Schools and education facilities

Schools built before 2004 frequently contain asbestos in classrooms, administration buildings, covered walkways, toilet blocks and maintenance sheds. Assessment and reporting must be completed before any maintenance, renovation or demolition work. Removal works on occupied school sites require careful planning around term dates, student access and communication with school communities.

Maintenance and capital works programs

Planned maintenance, refurbishment and capital works on public buildings require asbestos to be identified before any work that may disturb building materials. Infrastructure and civil projects
